Maniela

“Es war ein sehr schönes Wochenende. Ich habe viel über die Permakultur gelernt. Alle Fragen wurden beantwortet. und wir waren eine tolle Gemeinschaft. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an die Gastgeber”

Kira

“I attended Benny and Mavie’s summer school this weekend and it was absolutely magical to dive into their worlds living in full harmony with nature.

Benny grows so many varieties on his one hectar without mechanic tools, and Mavie is the most amazing Yoga teacher and creative chef!”

Kira

“Feeling nourished and calm in my body & mind after a weekend of farming in 32°, nourishing meals, sauna, bonfires and sleeping under the stars.

It was so interesting to learn about pruning, “Veredelung” of trees, getting seeds from tomatoes, composting, preparation of the soil, healing herbs .. just to name a few. 🙏🏼🌱”

Overall

  • Origin

When we started seeding the first time, we didn’t know we would end up here. We knew one should plant more, because “you never know”, but this intuitive way of keeping everything well nourished secured us prosperity that we had to share. Hence the delivery, hence the market… mastering the techniques, continuing to study and share, resulted in the aperture of the Permaculture Summer School in 2023.

  • Aim

Looking at how the culture’s shaping itself over the millennials, centuries and towards the future, we realize how history is the narration of adventues lead by one person at a time. Joining into communities with the same necessities, we are still able to feel one’s voice and give it a way: we have a clear vision of what’s to come, and we are advocating to protect our survival through our practical actions.

  • How

Saturday and Sunday • 21+22 June • 19+20 July • 30+31 August • 6+7 September. We start at 10AM, and on the last day we hug goodbye at 4PM. The Permaculture Summer School is designed for you to learn, that means that there’s lots of space to relax the nervous system and enhance your creativity. Guided Yoga and Meditations to restore your body and soul, aim to increase the interconnection to the whole.

  • Who

Benjamin was born and brought to the garden, where he spent so much time planting and playing with his grandfather, that, by the time he was 10, he already knew he wanted to become a farmer. Eingeneer of renewable energies and green building are his degrees, yet during these studies he was already living on a permaculture farm. Since 2010 his passion became his profession, nourishing 100+ families alongside his own.

FAQs

What is permaculture?

In Nature, the plants communicate to each other: they can move and migrate, create families, kill enemies … this is Permaculture: the conception that plants are alive, and that we can enhance their life (and get very tasty fruits) by respecting their needs of protection, nutrition and space.

What will I learn from the course?

You will practically learn about the cycle of the plants from seed to seed, witnessing the garden in its seasonal passages. This will inspire you to inquire, experiment and lead a more conscious lifestyle - yes, that might be the unexpected outcome of this experience…

Who is the teacher?

Benny
He is the most motivated farmer that ever lived, and dedicated his whole life to vegetables. Personally, he is also very essential, and wants to respect the natural processes of the plants.

MaVie
She is an amateur with experience, who likes to observe and understand those processes. She dedicates more to people, though, and she tames the monster of bureaucracy and celebrates this by cooking for all.

How much is the course?

We calculate 99€ per day, which include regenerative meals, booklet, toilet, water, tea, electricity, yoga mats (only for yoga lessons in the yoga space) and the sleeping area.

Are there extra costs?

At the end of the experience, if you want to bring some of the field home, we exhibit our offers and make a special deal for our participants.

Are there extra appointments or activities?

You will get the suggestion to join groups of friends of the field, to come and visit us during the year.
The only extra moment we offer is on the 23d of May, when we introduce the course and ourselves - online.

What about reimbursements?

The deposit fee we ask for corresponds to 30% of the whole amount. It books your spot, and will be kept if you renounce with less than 4 weeks notice.

In which language will the classes be?

We tend to teach in German and English, but we speak French, Italian and Spanish - if you need to clarify something in your language.

We ask the participants which language is their favorite, and keep translating simultaneously when needed.

How are the facilities?

On a farm, even your primordial functions are connected to nature: we have a compost toilet, and you get to brush your teeth with rain water, under a sky full of stars.
You can charge your phone, drink hot water, eat warm meals - discovering how this is done, it’s part of the game of living wildly for the weekend.

How is the area?

Our neighbors are the cows who graze from field to field.
The train railway is not too far from us, but there are fewer trains on the weekends, and some of their sound is integrated into Nature.
A huge forest embodies and contours the field.

Is the course accessible for all?

We resent admitting that the paths are difficult to cross on a wheelchair, and that the compost toilet is actually a tower.

Can I bring my pet?

On the farm we have a scared dog and a queen cat. Feel free to make your choice, but we discourage you from bringing your cat. Dogs tend to get along faster.
